Theology Curator with Kurt Willems

Theology Curator is hosted by Kurt Willems (formerly, The Paulcast). Each episode reflects on a theological, formational, or cultural theme. We might dig into the life and letters of a radical Jewish teacher named Paul; converse about a pressing contemporary issue; reflect on the nature of following Jesus today; or even remedy doom-and-gloom preaching with a good old fashioned dose of hope. This show is an invitation to build bridges between the first century world of the earliest Christ-followers into the twenty-first century reality we now inhabit. The Jesus we excavate from the rubble of tradition might just surprise us all.

This is a fun episode. We talk science, scripture, Jesus, and Paul. Also, there's a new book coming out that you want to know about: Dictionary of Christianity and Science: The Definitive Reference for the Intersection of Christian Faith and Contemporary Science.

Here's a bit more information about Dr. Michael Strauss:

Dr. Mike Strauss is a David Ross Boyd Professor of Physics at the University of Oklahoma. He conducts research in high-energy collider physics, currently with data from the ATLAS detector at CERN laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland where he studies the fundamental particles and forces that make up the universe. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in physical science from Biola University and his Ph.D. in experimental elementary particle physics from the University of California in Los Angeles. His previous research was done at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center and the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory.

Dr. Strauss has spoken about the intersection of science and Christianity at universities, schools and churches throughout the world. He has the ability to explain complex topics in easily understandable language and to offer life applications based on scientific and Biblical ideas. He is one of the general editors of the Dictionary of Christianity and Science, published by Zondervan.

What a journey this has been! One full year of podcasting. One full year of reflecting on this guy named Paul the Apostle. One full year of seeking to talk about him and Jesus in intellegent and humanizing ways. This episode will look back and forward. Many exciting things on the horizon.

This series explores Paul's vision for how women fit into the announcement that Jesus is Lord. It argues that Paul was an egalitarian, believing that women should be included (without distinction) in leadership roles within the church and home. Paul did not believe that women were "the same" as men, but that they equally offer gifts to the community as leaders, teachers, pastors, bishops, etc. This series will demonstrate why Paul was pro-women.
